Brigitte Rambaud, director of CSID showroom Medamothi, curated Valere Novarina in Barcelona (text in English and French)

Brigitte Rambaud, director of our showroom Medamothi, had a fabulous project in Barcelona. She curated the exhibition and the catalog of the renowned French author and painter Valere Novarina at Arts Santa Monica Barcelona thanks to its director Viçens Altaïo. Je reviens de Barcelone, ma ville préférée qui a organisé autour de l’auteur de théâtre et artiste Valère Novarina une exposition de 2587 dessins à Arts Santa Monica et dont je suis le commissaire. On entre dans l’exposition par une salle où est projeté un film où Novarina peint le décor d’une de ses pièces puis une deuxième salle beaucoup plus grande est couverte sur trois murs et sur toute la hauteur de tous les dessins encadrés, sur le quatrième mur des photograhies documentent  la longue journée où Novarina a dessiné tous les personnages d’une de ses pièces.
De même Valère Novarina a été le créateur invité de l’événement annuel Baribrossa où l’Espai Brossa a organisé 18 spectacles autour de son oeuvre dans diverses salles de la ville avec aussi différents auteurs catalans. Et pour la première fois le Musée Picasso a  invité un artiste à peindre pendant deux jours dans une de ses belles cours intérieures.
Beaucoup de monde à tous les spectacles ainsi qu’à l’exposition. Le prochain événement autour de Novarina aura lieu en 2011, en effet le nouveau théâtre de l’Espai Brossa qui est en rénovation inaugurera sa salle avec son oeuvre “l’Acte Inconnu” traduite au catalan.

For the first time ever, a contemporary artist painted in the Museum Picasso in Barcelona. Valere Novarina painted himself, as he always does, the set of his play “L’acte inconegut” (“L’acte inconnu”), April 17.

April 16, “Devant la parole”, Louis Castel staged and played this play by Valere Novarina in the Museum Picasso.
April 17, “L’acte inconegut”, a play by Valere Novarina in the Museum Picasso.
April 21, “L’opereta imaginaria”, lecture in Catalan of the play by Novarina at the theater Brossa Espai Escenic.
April 22, “Carta als actors”, lecture in Catalan of the play by Novarina at the CCCB, Centre de Cultura Contemporània Barcelona.
