Jean-Paul Thibeau, artist and teaching at the Ecole Superieure d’Art in Aix-en-Provence, France, answered to the question in French: “What percentage of ideas do you actually carry out?”. Visite his site of protocoles-meta.
Here is his answer:
First, we have to distinguish between idea and project. He has constantly ideas. Though not every idea is linked to projects nor does it necessarily lead to a project.
For him, having ideas is like breathing, is like living, is having sensations, you can’t avoid it.
But, that an idea becomes a project, it needs to meet with a response. This can be other persons’ reactions or his personal desire to realize something.
Once an idea has become a project, he carries out most of it. But he accords the project the time it needs to settle, to develop and to consolidate. He is never pressed for time. For example, an idea of 2010 can be realized in 2015.
And sometimes, the projects of other people are also a chance to implement an idea.
